The Fourth USKSF North Region Kuoshu (Kung Fu) Tournament Taolu (forms) Divisions will be for Chinese martial arts only.

At this time we do not offer handset or weapon divisions for competitors in the following styles:

  • Kenpo/Kempo/Chinese Kempo
  • Shaolin-Do
  • Pentak Silat
  • Kuntao
  • San Soo
  • Chinese Goju
  • Okinawan-based styles
  • Any non-Chinese based styles

If you are a practitioner of one of these above mentioned styles you may still compete in the Lei Tai and Continuous Sparring events. We may, in the future, include Taolu (forms) events for some of the above mentioned styles, however at this time we are limiting the competition to Chinese martial arts styles only.

Please note there is a difference between traditional and contemporary Chinese martial arts. We define the term "traditional" here as Chinese martial arts styles that were in existence prior to 1950 and conform to traditional precepts in movement and posture execution (which are diferent than those created by the Wushu Research group in 1950's in Mainland China). We define the term "contemporary" as taolu created after the 1950's and traditional taolu modified to conform to the movements and posture execution created by the Wushu Research group in the 1950's.
